How We Review
Our scoring system, what 'tested' means here, and the rules we never break.
1. We buy it
Products we review hands-on are bought at retail prices from Amazon.in, Flipkart or stores, like any customer. If a brand ever sends us a product, we'll disclose it at the top of the article. The free product won't get an easier score.
2. We separate “tested” from “claimed”
Specs from manufacturers are labelled as claimed. When we measure something, such as battery life or brightness, we say so and explain how. New reviews may start with a specification and value analysis, with a dated “Long-term notes” section added after extended use. We never invent hands-on impressions.
3. How the score works (0–10)
| Factor | Weight | What we look at |
|---|---|---|
| Core performance | 30% | Does it do its main job well: picture, speed, battery, accuracy? |
| Everyday experience | 25% | Build, ergonomics, software, setup, comfort |
| Value in India | 25% | Typical selling price against direct rivals available here |
| Warranty & support | 10% | Warranty length, service network, brand track record |
| Fit for purpose | 10% | How well it suits the buyer it's aimed at |
9+ means exceptional, 8+ means highly recommended, 7+ means good with caveats, and below 7 means look elsewhere.
4. Verdicts by need, not by commission
Every comparison ends with who should buy which product, and who shouldn't. Commission rates play no part in our picks or their order.
5. We keep guides current
Prices and stock change constantly in India. Each guide shows when prices were last checked. We update picks when products go out of stock or better options launch.
6. Health products get extra care
For health, fitness and beauty products we avoid medical claims, flag claims we haven't verified and include safety notes. Nothing on this site replaces professional advice.
