Tea on the sofa, a muddy paw on the rug, a juice spill in the back seat: fabric stains are part of life in an Indian home. The Nexlev Spot Clean Plus SP-01 is a compact machine built for exactly that. It sprays water, lets you scrub, then sucks the dirty water back out into a separate tank. Hot-water and steam modes take care of grease and stubborn grime.

A genuinely useful stain fixer for fabric-heavy homes
If you have fabric sofas, kids, pets or a car with cloth seats, the SP-01's spray-scrub-suck approach plus hot water and steam handles everyday stains without calling a cleaning service. Think of it as a spot cleaner, not a whole-house carpet washer.
What we like
- Three modes: cold water, 60°C hot water and 120°C steam
- Separate clean (1.5 L) and dirty (1 L) water tanks
- 13 accessories, including a garment steamer and window tool
- Self-cleaning hose mode; heats up in about 30 seconds (claimed)
Keep in mind
- A spot cleaner, not a full-room carpet washer: best for stains and small areas
- Fabric needs drying time after wet cleaning
- 1-year warranty; a newer brand without a long service track record

How a spot cleaner works
Unlike a vacuum, which only lifts dry dust, a spot cleaner washes fabric. Clean water (cold, hot or as steam) is sprayed into the stain, a brush loosens the dirt, and strong suction pulls the dirty water out into a separate tank. That's the same principle professional upholstery cleaners use, in a smaller box.
Three modes, and when to use each
- Cold water: fresh spills and delicate fabrics.
- Hot water (60°C): food stains, sweat marks and general grime on sofas and car seats.
- Steam (120°C): greasy marks, mattress refreshing, kitchen surfaces and tile grout. With the included attachment it also steams wrinkles out of clothes and cleans windows.
Practical details that matter
The separate 1.5 L clean and 1 L dirty tanks keep fresh and dirty water apart, and a self-cleaning hose mode flushes the tube after use so it doesn't smell. The box includes 13 accessories, from brushes and a crevice tool to a scraper, window cleaner and garment steamer. At 4.7 kg it's easy to carry to the car.
Limits to know before buying
- It's a spot cleaner. Wall-to-wall carpets and large rugs are slow work.
- Washed fabric needs time to dry, so clean in the morning or with a fan running.
- Nexlev is a newer brand. The 1-year warranty includes doorstep pickup (per the listing), but there's no long service track record yet.
Who should buy the Nexlev SP-01?
- Buy it if you have fabric sofas, mattresses, kids or pets, or a car with cloth seats, and you'd pay for professional cleaning more than once or twice a year.
- Buy it if you like one machine that also steams clothes and cleans glass.
- Skip it if your furniture is mostly leather, or you need to deep-clean large carpets regularly.

Frequently asked questions
Can the Nexlev SP-01 clean a whole sofa?
Yes, but in sections. It's designed for spot and small-area cleaning, so a full 3-seater will take time and the 1 L dirty-water tank will need emptying along the way. Let the fabric dry fully before use.
Is steam safe on all fabrics?
No. Check the care label on your sofa or car seats first. Leather, velvet, silk and some delicate fabrics can be damaged by steam or too much water. Test a hidden area first.
Do I need a special cleaning solution?
Plain water works for many stains, especially with hot water or steam. For tougher grime, use a low-foam upholstery cleaner that's suitable for extraction machines, in small amounts.
How long does it take to heat up?
Nexlev quotes about 30 seconds for steam. Hot-water mode is rated at 60°C and steam at 120°C.
